Dear visitor, Welcome to the website of Wingertschnegg e.V. Our association has set itself the goal of creating the most famous vineyard in the world. As a unique selling point, which should distinguish our vineyard from all other vineyards in the world, we have created it in the form of a snail house. The snail shape captures the wind from the outside and directs it through the turns inwards. In this circulating microclimate inside the snail, whose special properties we are still researching in detail, a very special wine grows: the Schneggewoi!
The idea!
Our former member Siegfried Weszkalnys had the idea to found the association in November 1999. The reason for this was a report that wine (barrel wine) is cheaper than milk. He wondered what he would do differently if he were a winemaker. In February 2000 the association "Wingertschnegg e.V." was founded and bought by the municipality of Zell im Zellertal a vineyard with picturesque views of the Donnersberg. The required work must be performed jointly and personally by the members. The instructions in the vineyard and the processing in the barrel are provided by an expert member, an eco-winemaker.
THE PROCEDURE
In the year of its foundation, we were still practicing with the existing vines. In 2001, we planted 2225 vine snails in today's snail shape, and the following year we placed a stake next to each vine for reverse pile education. Since 2003, we have been harvesting an increasing quantity of grapes, each yielding a noble drop. It has been shown that the Ocperegrade in the snail shape increases from the outside to the inside. The Pinot Blanc is bottled the following spring and we let the Spätburgunder mature in a barrel for over a year. Every second Saturday of the month, the members meet on the Wingert and work together on the success of the harvest. Of course, the Community is not neglected either. Every work effort is accompanied by a cosy get-together with home-made food from the "Wingertküche"!

Dieses Jahr stand im Mittelpunkt der baulichen Erneuerungen. Der Weinbau und das gemütliche Beisammensein kommen aber nicht zu kurz.

Das Jahr der Neuerungen: ein neuer Tisch wurde aufgestellt und im Chàteau wurde eine neue Bank installiert.

Das bisher schlechteste Jahr für die Wingertschnegg! Fast die komplette Ernte wurde vom falschen Mehltau vernichtet

Ein fast normales Jahr: wenig Arbeit und gutes Essen, dafür umso bessere Geselligkeit mit ganz lieben Menschen
